2004 NABA Conference: Rekindling Old & New Friendships!
(Paul Bresette, President)
NABA’s Conference 2004 was a resounding success
by any measure. New contacts were made and old friendships renewed. Even as I write this letter, leads are being followed up and contracts negotiated. If you were not Albuquerque,
be sure to put it on your calendar for 2005. We are going to be at Walt Disney
World in Orlando, Florida.
Each
year when the conference is over and the dust settles, we analyze our performance. What did we do well and where can we improve.
How can we help the Native American Business Owner do more with Corporate America?
Can we find a better way for Major Corporations to locate and work with Native
America? As an organization, we will continue to work to make improvements to
make the Conference even more productive for our members.
I have
had the privileged of being involved in one way or another in every one of our conferences. I
remember the first conference when a Talking Circle that started at 3pm lasted so long that all of the participants missed the Gala Dinner…and not one of
them complained. Good thing too since more people showed up for dinner than we
were prepared for and someone would have gone hungry.
The
conference continues to evolve and grow. One of the most encouraging things I see is those who have attended more than one,
show up READY to do business. They know it is a unique opportunity. In one three day period more contacts can be made than
is 6 months of sales calls. We intend to keep these opportunities going through out the year with our regional networking
sessions. Check our web site for the schedule.
